How to make Vadai :

Ingredients :
Dal Vadai - 15 Pieces Preparation Time : 20 min
Onions - 1 Cup
Tomato - 1 cup Serves : 4-5 people
Green chilly - 2
Curry Leaf - 1/2 cup
Bay Leaf - 3
Fennel Seeds - 1 Tsp
Cinnamon - 2'' size
Cloves - 3
Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp
Salt
Oil
Method :
You'll need approx 15 vadai for this recipe. If you are using bigger vada's, mash it into 2 or 3 pieces. Chop the onions and tomatoes as well.
Heat oil in a pan. Add Bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves and fennel seeds. Just saute it for few seconds. Add chopped onions, green chilly and curry leaves. Saute until onions is cooked well.
Add Tomatoes and saute until its cooked well. Then add chilly powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt.
Mix everything together. Until oil oozes out. Separate vada's into two portions.
Add 1/2 cup water to the curry mix and wait until the curry boils. Then add half of the vada's in it. Let it cook for a while, until the water evaporates. Finally add rest of the vada's to it.
The curry must have the combination of both soft vada's and crunch vada's. Garnish with coriander leaves.
