Thakkali Sambar is a good combination for Idly, Dosa, Uppuma and specially Panniyaram recipe.
Ingredients :
Tomato - 2 Cooking Time : 20 Minutes
Coconut - 3 Tbsp
Fried Channa dal - 1 Tbsp Serves : 4 People
Small Onions - 1/2 cup
Curry Leaf
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Salt
Oil - 1 Tbsp

To Roast and Grind :
Coriander Seeds - 2 Tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Cinnamon - 1''
Cloves - 3
Channa dal - 1 Tsp
Rice - 1/2 Tsp
Red Chilly - 1
Method :
Heat oil in a pan and roast all the ingredients given above. Add coconut and channa dal to it while grinding.
Once it gets smooth add the chopped tomatoes to it and blend once again.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, Curry leaf and Onions. Saute it well. Add grinded masala and salt.
Add enough water to the masala and let it boil. Add required amount of salt. Close the pan with the lid. Cook for 15 Minutes. Once the masala smell reduces, switch off the stove.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
