Potato poriyal is a easy & simple recipe. There's nobody who hates potato poriyal with sambar rice. It goes well not only with sambar rice and also tastes excellent with rasam rice, lemon rice & curd rice.
Ingredients :
Potato - 4 Preparation Time : 15 Min
Onions - 1/2 cup
Mustard seeds -1/4 Tsp Serves : 4 People
Chilly powder - 1/2 Tsp
Cuury/coriander leaf
Shredded coconut - 1 Tbsp
Turmeric - 1/2 Tsp
Salt
Oil
Method :
Pressure cook the potatoes and peel the skin off. Smash the potatoes and add Chilly powder, Turmeric & salt to it.
Transfer it to a serving bowl. Serve hot with rice.

Pressure cook the potatoes and peel the skin off. Smash the potatoes and add Chilly powder, Turmeric & salt to it.
Heat 3 Tbsp oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, Channa dal, Onion & curry leaf. Saute it until the onions is cooked. Then add the potatoes in the pan. Mix everything together for 5 min.
Finally add shredded coconuts and coriander leaves. Mix it well & switch off the stove.
Transfer it to a serving bowl. Serve hot with rice.
