Green Gram Dal, Pachai payaru Kulambu, YesaruPoruppu



Ingredients :

Green Gram/Moong Dal - 1/2 Cup                                   Cooking Time  : 30 Min
Onions - 1/2 Cup
Garlic - 6 pods                                                                   Serves : 2 People
Chilly Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Dried Onions/Badaga - 1 Tsp
Curry Leaf
Turmeric - 1/2 Tsp
Salt - 1/2 Tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
Hing - A pinch
Oil - 2 Tbsp

Method :

Dry roast Green gram Dal in a pan until it turns slight brown color. You'll get nice aroma while roasting it. Cool it well before you break it. Using a mixer, beat it for 3 seconds until its breaks or coarse powder. Dont make it has smooth powder. Boil 3 cups water in a pan and add the green gram dal. Add turmeric powder to it.

                             

Once the dal cooks nice soft, add onions, garlic, curry leaf, dried onions and chilly powder. Add salt once the onions is cooked.

                             

Meanwhile heat a small pan with 2 Tbsp oil and add mustard seeds and hing. Pour the oil mix to the dal and stir it. The dal has to be in medium consistency. Transfer it to a serving bowl.

                              

Serve with steaming rice or Roti.
