Mutton Gravy (Mutton Kulambu)

This is the mutton gravy which i usually i prepare in my home. I learnt it from my mother & i love all methods of  mutton curry she prepares. But couldn't bring her taste any time. You can remove all the mutton pieces cooked in the gravy and prepare mutton fry separately. Mutton fry recipe will be posted in another post.

Set all the masala ingredients to grind. Grind it to smooth paste.

Heat the pressure cooker with 3 Tbsp oil. Add Mustard seeds, Onions, Badaga(dried onions) & saute it for a while.

Then add Mutton in the cooker & add turmeric, Salt. Stir it for 2 min. Add Curry leaf, Chilly powder, Coriander powder & curry masala in it. Stir all the masala well until it gets combined with mutton.

Add the grinded masala to the mutton and pour enough water to the masala & stir it. Wait until the masala starts to boil. Close the pressure cooker lid. Cook for 4 - 5 whistles. Turn off the stove.

Once the pressure is released open the lid. Stir it & transfer it to a serving dish. Garnish with coriander leaf.

Spicy Mutton Gravy is now ready.

Serve hot with Rice, Idly, Dosa or Chappati.
