Kollu Paruppu is a less known cereal to all. It is very good for health and helps to remove kidney stones, lower blood pressure and cholesterol. This kollu paruppu chutney is made by sprouting the gram. To make this chutney plan accordingly 3 days prior to prepare. You'll get real taste of this chutney only when you sprout it. Duration of sprouting time may be longer but very simple method of cooking.
Ingredients :
Kollu Paruppu - 1/2 Cup Sprouting Time : 2 Days
Coriander Seeds - 1 Tbsp
Green Chilly - 4 Preparation Time : 30 Min
Small Onions - 3
Badaga(Dried Onions) - small piece Serves : 2 People
Curry Leaves
Salt
Method :
Store it in a air tight container for 1-2 days. You can also use cloth & tie it has a bundle to sprout the gram. Place it in a warm & dark place.
Leave it until you get 1-2 cm sprouts. Add the Sprouted horse gram in a pressure cooker and pour 2 Cups water in it. Add coriander seeds, Green chilly, Onions, Curry leaves & Badaga in it. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
Separate the Horse gram in a mixer jar. And store the water in a separate bowl.This water can be used while grinding. And the remaining water can be used to make Kollu Rasam. Add salt to it and grind it to smooth paste. Sprinkle some water to grind if needed.
Kollu Paruppu is ready.Serve with rice and ghee.
