VenPongal

Ingredient :

Raw Rice - 1 Cup                                                  Preparation Time :
Moong Dal - 1/3 Cup                                                      20 min
CashewNuts - 10                                                  Calories : 
Cumin Seeds - 1 Tbsp                                                     130, 1/2 cup cooked
GreenChilly - 3 Small                                            Serves :
Curry & Coriander Leaves                                              4 People
Pepper - 1 Tsp crushed
Oil - Required amount
Ghee - Required amount
Salt - Required amount

Method : 

Soak the rice in water for half an hour. Add 4 cups of water in a pressure cooker. Once the water gets boiled add rice to it. Let it boil for 5 min.

                            

Meanwhile temper the Moong Dal slightly in a pan and add it to the boiling rice. Then add salt and 2 Teaspoon oil and close the pressure cooker lid. Wait until you get 3 whistles and switch off the stove.

                            

Take a pan add some oil and ghee, once it gets hot add cashew nuts and fry until it turns golden, then add pepper, green chillies, curry leaves to it. Open the pressure cooker lid and add cumin seeds and all the fried ingredients, coriander leaves to it and mix it well. If needed, add more oil or ghee to the rice. 


                          

Serve hot with Sambhar and Coconut Chutney.
